What Comes Next?

Work Desk Wednesday

Since the show a week or so ago I’ve been in a bit of a dither as to what to do next.

I have a number of ideas.

Then I remembered it’s Wednesday and there’s a Linky List I’ve been meaning to sign up to that happens on Wednesdays. It’s called “What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday?(Click the link if you’d like more details.) So I’ve used that to inspire me to write this post and I’m hoping the writing will move me on to the next thing.

As you can see, my work table is actually empty of any work. I’ve made a couple of birthday cards since the show and added a bit of paint to some unfinished paintings and generally faffed around picking things up and putting them down. Oh yes, and I’ve spent rather a lot of time on Pinterest. Purely for research reasons of course!

I’ve also finally got my online shop up and running and tested it with my lovely friend Sue who bought 3 of my mini inspirational words paintings. Wow. When I stop and think about that, that’s pretty amazing!

It also paves the way for me to experiment with some other things I’d like to try:

  • Putting together some ephemera packs with the found objects and papers I’ve been collecting
  • Upcycling the boards of  the second hand games I’ve been buying, into note book covers or something similar
  • Doing something interesting with the cards that have come from the games
  • Altering some old books into diaries or journals

I would also like to spend some time experimenting with my Gelli plate and using other stuff that’s sitting around, not to mention learning how to make videos and getting better with my Silhouette Cameo.

So many yummy choices. What to do? What to do?

There’s nothing for it but to slow right down and do the next thing

and then the next

and the next.

It reminds me of when my daughter was little. When she got overexcited I used to sit her on my lap and hold her there squirming and wriggling until finally she relaxed and then we moved on to the next thing.

A bit like I feel now. Just sitting and writing . . . and on to the next thing . . . No need to think further than that . . .

Just

The

Next

Thing

Why does our brain work quicker than my hands ever can?!?!?!? Seems like we crafters all suffer with this! Never mind, we just take it one day at a time. Happy WOYWW! Karen 133 x

What a lovely lot of paints and equipment on your desk, we all seem to be running at 100 miles an hour lately, so much to do and no time to do it in. Happy WOYWW
