dont put off livingWhilst playing around on the net looking at mixed media sites, I came across the Fall Fearless and Fly challenge. It seemed a great opportunity to get inspired to try some projects I wouldn’t otherwise be doing and to help keep me experimenting.

Each challenge comes with a set of prompts and you may use one, two or all of them.

Here are the prompts for the first challenge and my thoughts regarding them:

Headline Prompt: Inventing the Future: Where do you want to be 5, 10, 15 years from now. What’s holding you back? What’s propelling you forward? What do you need to do or stop doing to create your future?

These days I don’t plan so much for the future. I’m learning to live in the moment more and taking action for the future when it feels right today. I don’t feel like anything is holding me back and would say it’s the present that is propelling me forward. I don’t feel I need to do or stop doing anything to create my future. It will take care of itself.

Color Prompt: Warm colors (reds, oranges, pinks, yellows)

I decided to use the colour prompts because, apart from the pinks, I usually avoid the warm colours. I buy most of my paints, secondhand, from eBay in job lots. That means I end up with a wide variety of colours I wouldn’t necessarily choose if I was buying new. I have loads of reds and yellows that I haven’t used so this seemed like a good opportunity to experiment with them.

Quote Prompt: “The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.” Abraham Lincoln

With regard the quote I take the view that the future never comes which inspired the words on my painting . . . and there’s the result above.
