This week I’ve sorted through the board games I’ve collected. Now, when I’m ready to start upcycling them I’ll be able to easily find what I’m looking for. Hoorah!
One of the games has a set of word magnets that I bought to use as embellishments. I didn’t want to leave them in the original box, however, because it takes up too much space so I decided to make a storage box for them.
I looked for a template that I could use with my Silhouette Cameo but I couldn’t find one that was the right size or that looked easy to adapt, so I made one myself.
I didn’t get the cutting settings quite right, or the blade is too blunt, the mat is too old, the card is not right or . . . so I had to finish the cutting with a craft knife. That’s why it’s a bit feathery.
The end result is not quite a neat as I would have liked but I’m pleased with myself for working out how to do this and for getting it done.
My first designed from scratch and custom made Silhouette Cameo box!

Nope, not been in the sun yet – it did dull down a bit but is supposed to get up again this afternoon. Desk just the same however. That’s a great box you have made and I am envious of you knowing how to use the Silhouette – and owning one. It looks lovely to me – and I do like the colour you used.
Hugs and thanks for visiting me – Neet xx 9
I wouldn’t go so far as to say I know how to use the Silhouette. It’s a bit of a love/hate relationship!
Brilliant! Look forward to seeing you use those cards! Chris 96
